[Behind The Scenes] Imagination: Edith Widayani, piano
Imagination
Edith Widayani, piano
Soon available on Spotify and Apple Music
Soon to be released on online streaming platforms, Edith Widayani's debut album titled "Imagination" takes inspiration from the seemingly simple pieces written for younger pianists, as well as the need to rediscover her identity as an Indonesian pianist.
Written exclusively by Indonesian composers and arrangers, all of the pieces in the album are a part of the Online Piano Workshop program that Edith is currently hosting, partnering with "Let The Music Begin!" and Amadeus Enterprise, drawing more than 200 participants already all over Indonesia since its inception back when the pandemic started in March. The pieces are written to give the younger generation an ability to craft their own interpretation as well as a tool for them to express themselves.
Presenting 10 pieces, including "Hope" - a piece specially written for Edith - this album will also feature three young Indonesian pianists, Theodora Helga, Vanessa Irwanto, and Kevina Tenggara as they will play their version of the pieces written for them in the workshop.
